Bus riders:
Students who ride a bus will be dismissed first so they are able to board their bus in a timely manner. Students who are disruptive in line or on the bus may lose the privilege of riding the bus. Please remind your child of the bus safety rules. Kinder and 1st grade students must have a parent or older sibling meet them at the bus stop.
Parent pick up:
Located at the north side of the MPR. Students who are car riders will wait inside the MPR. Parents are to remain in their cars at all times and drive clockwise to the north side of the MPR doors. Please do not pass others. Pull forward with your purple sheet with student names placed in the driver side front window. Staff will call your students as you approach the doors. There will be two lanes - K-2 students are closest to the curb for safety with grades 3-5 on the inner circle.
Please note: Students will not be dismissed from the MPR if a parent or guardian walks up to the doors. If your child is tagged as parent pick-up and you are not in a vehicle, we will not dismiss them.
Walk/Bike/Scooter:
If your child is a walker or biker, he or she needs to be able to get home independently. Students must walk on the sidewalk and use designated crosswalks. Students must walk their bike/scooter while on school grounds and until they've crossed the street. Please remind your child to wear a helmet and be aware of vehicle and foot traffic at all times. The school is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bikes/scooters/skateboards. These students are dismissed from two locations. Those crossing by the school driveway will exit from the MPR. Those crossing at the Roundabout will leave through the gate at the entrance to the parking lot. Bikers/Scooters will leave out the front.
- Park and Walk Up: We kindly ask you not to park and walk up to get your child. Parking is extremely limited-we encourage you to stay in your car and drive through parent pick up.
- If you are walking to meet your child, you will wait outside either the MPR doors or the gate closest to the entrance to the school bus lane.
Children’s Learning Adventure (CLA) or Sunrise Bus:
Students will be bussed by Children's Learning Adventure or Sunrise to and from Santa Cruz. While waiting, students will line up inside the school until they are escorted to the bus. It is your responsibility to notify CLA or Sunrise of any changes or student absences.
Boys and Girls Club:
If your child attends the Boys & Girls Club, it will be held in the MPR. You will pick up your child at the doors on the north side of the MPR. It is your responsibility to notify the club of any changes or student absences.
